126th Annual Rose Parade Preparations Are In Full Swing
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Preparations were underway Wednesday for the 126th Rose Parade in Pasadena.
The La Canada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association reached out to volunteers on Twitter after high winds caused a power outage that halted the construction of their float Tuesday night.
Decorating continued Wednesday morning in hopes the float will be completed before judging.
Parade watchers will be able to claim their spots along the 5.5-mile route in Pasadena starting at 12 p.m. Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to be near-record low, and officials recommended campers wear multiple layers, including hats and gloves, and drink warm fluids.
Small, professionally manufactured barbecues will be aloud as long as they are elevated at least one foot off the ground and located more than 25 feet from buildings or other flammable materials. Bonfires are prohibited.
"All viewers, chairs and belongings must remain on the curb until 11 p.m., December 31. At that time, spectators may move out to the blue honor line," officials said.
The Rose Parade will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday.
