Man Arrested After Alleged Hammer Attack In North Hills

NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Police say they have a man in custody after he allegedly attacked another man with a hammer Tuesday outside a home in the North Hills area.

The crime happened in the 8500 block of Aqueduct Avenue about 2:20 a.m., Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado said.

The victim and other family members detained the suspect until police arrived and took him into custody, Preciado said.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment. Preciado said the injury was not life-threatening.

The suspect's name was not immediately released.
