LADWP Worker Shocked By Power Line In Encino

ENCINO (CBSLA.com) — A Los Angeles Department of Water and Power worker was shocked while working on a power line in Encino Thursday.

Paramedics were sent to the 17000 block of Rancho Street about 11:30 a.m. and took the man to a hospital in critical condition, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The man, who was working on overhead power lines, "made contact with electrical wires carrying 4,800 volts of electricity, according to the DWP, which had 460 customers in the area out of service.
