NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A fatal motorcycle crash in North Hills Monday night backed up traffic for miles on the northbound 405 Freeway.

The collision occurred at 8:44 p.m. when a motorcycle collided with a BMW just south of the Roscoe Boulevard off-ramp, according to California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No further details were released about the victim.

It wasn't immediately clear if other vehicles were involved.
