Former Nuggets Coach Dan Issel Gives Special Olympians A Lesson On Health & Nutrition

DENVER (CBS4) - Hall of Famer Dan Issel worked with children in Denver on Wednesday.

Sixty-five Special Olympians learned about health and nutrition from the former Denver Nuggets player and coach.

Issel says the healthy habits are good for the soul too.

"I get more than they get out of it; I could use a workout myself,' Issel said. "Seeing those smiles and seeing people high-five each other -- it's real special."

"It brings us the opportunity to get out the athletes out, to engage with more people in the community, to get even better basketball skills, and to learn really about health and fitness and what it means to take good care of themselves," said Mindy Watrous, President and CEO of Special Olympics Colorado.
