Winning Lotto Ticket For $270 Million Jackpot Sold In Glendale Heights
(CBS) - Someone in the Chicago area just hit a massive Mega Millions jackpot. WBBM's Mike Krauser reports.
The winning ticket, numbers 26, 32, 44, 45, 58 with Mega Ball 11, was sold at Bucky's Express on the 1200 block of Bloomingdale Road in Glendale Heights.
The $270 million jackpot is the largest prize in Illinois Lottery history. After taxes, the lottery says the jackpot is worth $126 million.
Bucky's Express will receive a $500,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
According to the lottery, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1:258,890,850.
Ronald Banks plays the lottery faithfully each week.
"I played the same set of numbers for five years and I'm hoping one day I'll catch"
Banks has some advice for the person who bought the winning ticket.
"Don't change, just stay yourself and don't blow it," he said.
The wish list is long for what lottery winner hopefuls would have done if they'd won.
"I would pay off all my debt and by my mother-in-law a house," said Mallory Hayes-Banks.
