2 Dead, 1 Wounded In Grand Crossing Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Two people were killed and another was wounded in a shooting Tuesday morning in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Police said a 67-year-old woman, a 42-year-old man, and a 55-year-old man were found shot shortly after 6 a.m. in the 900 block of East 79th Street.
All three were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where the woman and the younger man were pronounced dead, according to police. Fire Department officials said the older man was in critical condition, but police said his condition has been stabilized.
Circumstances of the shooting are under investigation, and no one was in custody Tuesday morning.
Police confirmed there was an active SWAT incident nearby in the 7900 block of South Ellis Avenue after the shooting, but it was not immediately clear if the SWAT incident was connected to the shooting.
