Another day of torrential rains in the Southwest. Dangerous monsoon flooding near Phoenix left one man clinging to the side of his overturned pickup truck, as fast-moving floodwater rose quickly around him.

DISPATCH:

Going to be able to get the guy off the truck.

ROB MARCIANO:

First responders using a helicopter to save him from his sinking truck. It had risen up to the top of the window, so there was that urgency.

More than 4 inches of rain, fueled by moisture from former Hurricane Polo, flooded streets in the Tucson area, prompting more water rescues. Sometimes people just underestimate how fast the water is moving and how powerful it is.

Flash floods again pounded parts of southern New Mexico, filling streets with water and creating dangerous conditions for drivers. Emergency crews working quickly to save a man who was stuck inside this SUV. In Garfield, New Mexico, officials there urged people to move to higher ground after a flood control dam was in danger of failing. Dramatic video shows floodwater rushing over it.

Oh my God. That's not good.

The same storm is moving into Texas, where it churned up this tornado near Amarillo overnight. No injuries to report. That's the good news. Also, that dam, they kind of plugged the leak, and they brought in some pumps to help relieve some of the pressure off that. So for now, they've lifted some of those evacuation orders, and the heaviest rain is kind of pulling out of New Mexico. Southeast Colorado, you're going to be in it today. Flood watches extend all the way through Iowa and then back in through Dallas. The I-35 corridor is certainly going to be under the gun, not just for one but I think for two days, beginning on later on this afternoon. So a level three out of four in the red here for seeing some flash flooding. 58 million people under the risk here could see 2 inches per hour rain rates. And again, a lot of this is some tropical moisture. And then tomorrow, we're looking at-- here we go-- Austin, Dallas. I think tonight is Dallas, and then it kind of drifts and hangs back tomorrow. And again, we've got leftovers from Polo. We've got this disturbance in the Colorado Rockies, and we've got Gulf moisture. So that combination stretching out will lead to a lot of moisture I think right on through Friday morning. Vlad.

All right, Rob, thank you.
