Scott Stearney, top U.S. Naval commander in Middle East, dies of apparent suicide
The top commander of U.S. Naval forces in the Middle East, Vice Adm. Scott Stearney, was found dead in his home in Bahrain. He commanded more than 20,000 men and women in the Navy's 5th fleet based in Bahrain. Defense officials say it is an apparent suicide and foul play is not suspected.
