Millions of people living in modern slavery worldwide
More than 40 million people worldwide are trapped in modern slavery, according to the 2018 Global Slavery Index. North Korea, Eritrea and Burundi have the highest rates. The report finds the U.S. and other developed countries complicit in slavery through the at-risk products each nation imports. Co-author of the report and senior statistician at the Walk Free Foundation, Davina Durgana, joins CBSN to explain the findings.
