Report: Cutting unemployment aid has little effect on job growth
Twelve states cut unemployment aid about three months before federal benefits expire in September. It was part of an attempt to boost hiring, but a new report by Gusto says states that cut benefits early saw their employment headcount grow 11.6% on average compared to 11.2% in states that kept the benefits.
