Gunman in custody after ambushing Philadelphia cop
A gunman fired 13 times at close range in an apparent ambush of a police officer who was sitting in his cruiser late Thursday. Philadelphia’s police commissioner calls the surprise attack one of the “scariest things” he has ever seen. Police say at one point the shooter was reaching inside the vehicle, firing round after round until he had no bullets left. The gunman is now in police custody and the badly injured officer is expected to survive. Justin Finch of CBS station KYW in Philadelphia reports.
