Caleb Flynn listened in stunned silence as the verdict was read, guilty on all counts, including murder, in the shooting death of his wife, Ashley, at their Tipp City, Ohio, home in February. The former American Idol contestant and pastor was charged with nine counts ranging from evidence tampering to assault and murder, which carries the possibility of a life sentence. You heard his statement three times with the police. There wasn't any reason to put him on for a fourth time.

The prosecution called 40 witnesses, including Flynn's one-time lover, 24-year-old Alleigha Botner. She read aloud some of the more than 100,000 messages she said they exchanged. At first it was, I want her dead. I wish she was gone. And then it was, if I could kill her and not go to jail, I would.

Flynn was accused of shooting his wife twice while she was asleep in their bedroom. The couple's daughters were home at the time, according to authorities. They say Flynn attempted to cover up the killing by staging a burglary. Flynn did not take the stand in his own defense. During closing arguments today, his attorney says the prosecution did not have sufficient evidence. No gun was found. The prosecution had such strong evidence with those text messages where you have a defendant literally saying, I want to or I wish I could kill my wife, and then no evidence to really undercut that. Attorneys for Flynn plan to appeal. Sentencing will take place here Monday afternoon. Caleb Flynn faces the possibility of life in prison without parole. Tony. Ian, thank you very much.
