Exhibit honors 25th anniversary of "Songs of My People"
During historic events and incidents like the L.A. riots and America's war on drugs, photographer Dr. Michael Cheers felt the African American community was not being covered fairly in mainstream media. He responded by bringing 50 photographers together to create a collection called "Songs of My People." An exhibit in Washington, D.C., is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the book. Chip Reid reports.
