D-Day anniversary: CBS Radio reporters helped "bring the war home"
When the D-Day invasion of Normandy got underway, radio reporters with CBS News were ready. Michael Freedman, former general manager of CBS Radio Network News said correspondents were given full access to troops in the field, because Dwight D. Eisenhower wanted them to "report what they saw."
