Crash victims rescued from canyon after iPhone alerts first responders via satellite

First responders rescued two people on Tuesday after their car went off the side of a mountain in California's Angeles National Forest, CNET reports. There was no cell service, Apple told the outlet, but a passenger's iPhone detected the crash through sensors and alerted authorities by sending an emergency SOS via satellite to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
