Canadian figure skater launches diversity program to mentor skaters of color
As a Black figure skater, Elladj Balde had difficulty finding his footing in a predominantly white sport. In an effort to make the sport more inclusive, the now retired skater co-founded The Figure Skating Diversity and Inclusion Alliance to mentor Black youths in the sport. Adriana Diaz reports.
