Bookstores growing as country celebrates Independent Bookstore Day
Just a decade ago, independent bookstores seemed on the verge of extinction. Now hundreds of independent bookstores have opened in the past 10 years, meaning there are about 1,700 independent bookstores in the U.S. Tony Dokoupil has more as the country celebrates "Independent Bookstore Day."
