Tejano music pioneer Johnny Canales dies at the age of 77
A pioneer of Tejano music has died. Johnny Canales was best known for the Johnny Canales show, which aired live from Corpus Christi. The show promoted singers and bands every week. Selena performed on the show when she was just a teen in 1986. Canales later renamed the show to include his wife Nora.
