Lights Out Texas initiative aims to protect migrating birds this fall
As part of the “Lights Out, Texas” campaign, non-essential lights will be turned off statewide from Oct. 11 through November to protect migrating birds from disorientation and collisions. Residents are encouraged to join the effort by dimming or turning off outdoor lights and closing blinds at night.
