Houston mayor's race headed for a runoff

The Houston's mayor race is headed for a runoff. Two Democrats, State Senator John Whitmire and U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, breezed past a crowded field, but neither cleared the 50% threshold in order to claim victory. So whoever wins next will take over for the city's current mayor, which is Sylvester Turner, who is now term limited.
