"Today we've reached the grim milestone of 100,000 Dallas County residents who have been sickened with COVID-19," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
Dallas County Health and Human Services reported 719 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Dallas County on Tuesday, November 3.
The county explained a large network of outpatient clinics has just begun comprehensive electronic reporting of their antigen testing results to DCHHS.
Though it isn't the biggest in the union, Texas has surpassed every U.S. state -- including California -- and recorded the highest number of positive coronavirus tests so far.
The additional death reported Sunday is a woman in her 60s who was critically ill in an area hospital, and had underlying high risk health conditions.
The Texas Department of State Health Services has confirmed the number of positive coronavirus cases reported surpassed 900,000 on Saturday.
"If we do not turn these numbers around, we will be facing all time high numbers at Thanksgiving," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
"It's important that we find fun things to do this Halloween that don't include trick-or-treating or Halloween dances or parties," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
Dallas County Health and Human Services reported 479 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Dallas County for a cumulative total of 94,837 confirmed cases (PCR test).
"With numbers increasing, it's very important that we all make good choices... Wear your mask and avoid crowds," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
"We continue to see high numbers of COVID-19 cases in Dallas County and in the region," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
Masks are more important than ever, but a costume mask is not a substitute for a protective cloth mask, the Texas Department of State Health Services says.
"Today's number continues a trend upward in COVID-19 positive cases and we're also seeing our hospitalizations and emergency room visits trending in the wrong direction," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
Dallas County Health and Human Services reported 351 new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Dallas County on Thursday, for a cumulative total of 91,664 cases.
