Gov. Abbott told CBS News Texas that the Supreme Court's ruling on SB4 is "consequential," and acknowledged the ruling isn't conclusive.

For the second time this month, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito extended his stay on the new controversial Texas law that would make it a state crime for a migrant to cross into Texas illegally.
"SCOTUS temporarily halted enforcement of SB 4 but Texas is still using its authority to arrest illegal immigrants for criminal trespass and other violations of law," Abbott said via X Monday night.
SB4 is set to take effect on Wednesday.
