On Tuesday, Texans were asked to cut back on their power usage between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m., but for a unique reason.
ERCOT says it needs all Texans to reduce their electricity use until 10 p.m. Thursday to avoid an energy emergency.
ERCOT said it is not currently experiencing emergency conditions.
The weather watch has been extended until Aug. 18.
