U.S. employers pulled back on hiring in April after a streak of solid monthly gains, adding 160,000 jobs, the fewest in seven months.
The Texas unemployment rate in February fell to 4.4 percent, down one-tenth of a percentage point from the previous month.
The Texas jobless rate has started the year on a lower note with 4.5 percent unemployment during January.
"Choose a degree with a purpose. Make sure that when you have earned your degree that you are able to apply it to your chosen career," encourages Dr. Mark Stello.
"If you are considering getting your doctorate, make sure you evaluate multiple programs to see what would be a great fit for you," encourages Dr. Mary Lazarus.
"I knew that obtaining an MBA was the best route to securing a leadership role in health care management. It provided the content, exposure and connections to a network that may not have been attainable without the degree," says Elaine Auerbach.
Several large corporations are bringing big new complexes and plenty of jobs to the Dallas area.
"[My degree] continues to afford me the ability, freedom and flexibility to earn a fruitful income while also raising a family," says Judge Holly Fox.
"Education has also broadened my mind to accept and respect the opinions of others, thereby making me balanced and fair minded," says Dr. Suryakant T. Desai.
Kyla Porter is pursuing a master's degree to expand her business as well as her own confidence.
"Increasing the capacity that I am able to help others is my biggest reward," says Elizabeth Owens.
A two million square foot complex will be sure to bring abundant jobs to the Dallas area.

In September, over 26,000 non-farm jobs were added. 224,8000 positions have been added within the year from September 2014 to September 2015.
"The biggest reward (beside the experience and the friendships that I formed with my cohort members) was gaining knowledge and confidence as a critical thinker in a field of highly intelligent and capable leaders," says Major Max Geron.
"The benefit of being able to see solutions to business problems through the eyes of finance, manufacturing, accounting, operations and R&D's eyes gave me better tools to manage my business," says John McNamara.
