DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Family and friends are celebrating a little girl for fighting off an alleged kidnapper and making it to safety. Cordrie Allen Dunn has been charged with the aggravated kidnapping of a child and resisting arrest, and the little girl and her family are vowing to keep him in jail for as long as possible.

Emmily Mims did not mind letting her 11-year-old daughter talk, but CBS 11 News has decided to protect her identity after what happened to her on Saturday. "She was just sitting, eating candy, playing with the other kids, not bothering anybody," said Mims, "and this monster come to attack my child."

Police arrested 36-year-old Dunn after investigators said that he lured the girl to the front of his apartment, grabbed her and tried to sexually assault her. "He said, 'I know your mama,' and then he said, 'There your mama go right there.' I looked, and then he snatched me up by my legs and took me upstairs, locked the door and took me in the back room," the little girl said.

The girl managed to get away and run to a neighbor, who called her mother and the police.

"She deserves a lot of credit, because she fought him off. Her big brothers and sisters taught her well, because she fought him," Mims said.

Now, Mims and her daughter are speaking out, because they believe that this was not the first time that the suspect has done something like this. "I want these victims to come out because, if they don't speak about it now, it's going to keep happening and keep happening," Mims said.

Mims also promised to be at every future court date for Dunn, to ensure justice for her daughter. "I want him to go to jail and never come back to this apartment and never rape kids," the girl said.

Police are asking for anyone who has additional information about this suspect to contact them immediately.
