World War II Veteran Brothers Buried Side By Side
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - In life, and in death, two brothers who served together in World War Two, were one.
Brothers Clarence and Albin Pinkus both lived beyond the age of 90. Both served their nation in the World War Two era, almost 70 years ago.
With no other living relatives, the brothers wished to be laid to rest together at DFW's national cemetery. One woman and her son made that wish a reality.
"It's the wish he had," says family friend Esther Taylor. "He always wanted to be with his brother."
Esther Taylor started providing home care for Clarence Pinkus ten years ago. He was "grand-papa" to her son Daniel.
Taylor, with the support of Patriot Guard Riders, fulfilled the Pinkus promise, an interment ceremony including both brothers. Albin died last december.
"Clarence has talked about ever since Albin died that he was going to be buried with him here, and that was something he looked forward to," recalls Donna Spencer.
It is a final promise that will ensure the bond that these brothers shared in life, will endure past their death.
