Worker Killed Outside Argyle H.S. Was Hit By Semi Driven By His Dad

ARGYLE (CBSDFW.COM) - A school community is shaken and a family grieving after a deadly construction site accident Tuesday.
Argyle firefighters say a worker was killed when he was hit by an 18-wheeler, at the site of the new Argyle Independent School District athletics practice facility.
The school district sent out an email blast to parents, letting them know that no students or staff were involved in the accident, which is on the high school campus.
This is the second fatality this month on the project – on April 2, Julio Ledesma, 36, was killed and three others injured after the steel frame of the building collapsed.
The Argyle School Board called an emergency meeting Tuesday night to discuss the deaths and the contract with Northstar Builders – the general contractor for the project.
"It's God telling us not to do it," said John Furst, a senior a Argyle High School. Classmate Manily Estrada said, "It's really weird that something like that happened twice in a week."
Tuesday's accident killed 22-year-old worker Daniel Moran.
Moran was part of a crew moving a semi-tractor trailer, according to Troy Taylor, the Chief Forensic Death Investigator for Denton County Medical Examiner.
Taylor says Moran was helping guide the trailer forward on the passenger side, when for some reason, he got too close to the back rear wheels. Taylor does not know how Moran got caught, but the big rig rolled over him, instantly killing him.
To add to the tragedy, Taylor said Moran's father was behind the wheel, and the young man's grandfather was also on-site when the accident occurred.
All of the family members work for Duran's Trucking LLC. Duran's Trucking was hired by Precision Demolition. Precision is a sub-contractor hired to disassemble and haul away wreckage from the fallen steel frame, according to an attorney for Precision.
The attorney for Precision said Duran's Trucking was tasked with transporting the excavation equipment from that job. The crew was positioning the semi for loading when the accident occurred.
In 911 calls, construction workers who witnessed the accident can be heard urging first responders to hurry.
"I'm asking for an ambulance to come out here. [The wheels] rolled over a gentleman and he's lying on the ground…. He's freed of the vehicle but not moving."
Another witness told the 911 operator, "Hurry ma'am."
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is also investigating this accident. The agency has an investigation already open into last week's deadly accident at the construction site.
