Woman Shot At Birthday Party In Forest Hill
FOREST HILL (CBSDFW.COM) - An 18-year-old woman is in the hospital after being shot in the head late Wednesday night. Police in Forest Hill are now looking for the person responsible for that shooting. The incident happened just after 11:30 p.m. during a party in the 6800 block of Trailwood Drive.
According to witnesses at the scene, the woman was celebrating her birthday at a house party when a fight started and shots were fired. The Forest Hill Police Department received several calls saying that at least 50 teens were attending the party.
Authorities said that the women was shot at least once during the violent incident and struck in the head. She was transported to a hospital in Fort Worth and is expected to survive. The woman's name has not been released.
"They started fighting and shooting and shot an innocent girl that came to have fun," recalled a witness identified only as Monae. "It's her birthday and it's not right."
Police have not named or arrested any suspects in this case. Anyone with additional information is urged to call the Forest Hill Police Department.
