Woman Run Over By SUV In Grocery Store Parking Lot
CEDAR HILL (CBSDFW.COM) - A woman has been run over by an SUV in a grocery store parking lot in Cedar Hill.
The incident happened in the parking lot of a Kroger on FM 1382.
The 54-year-old woman was seriously injured and rushed to Charlton Methodist Hospital.
A member of the woman's church contacted CBS11 on Wednesday and said the victim, Martina Gutierrez, died of her injuries on Tuesday, June 13
"Martina left behind a wonderful family and a husband that are good people. Her two daughters are 14 and 21 and the son is 16." said Luis Contreras. "The family is going through a very hard time and no even more that they are left with covering for the funeral expenses that they don't have the finances for."
Contreras said a GoFundMe page has been set up to help Gutierrez's family with funeral expenses.
The driver of the small SUV stayed at the scene after the accident and police say the person is "cooperating with investigators as they work to determine how the crash occurred." So far, police have not filed charges against the driver.
