Woman Missing From The Shops At Legacy Since Saturday
Updated 10 p.m. Plano police said they will retrace a missing 23-year-old's steps Friday morning. Christina Morris was last seen inside a parking garage at The Shops of Legacy Saturday morning at 4 a.m. More than 80 volunteers searched the area Thursday evening. Family and friends searched for clues -- anything that may lead to Morris' whereabouts.
"Whatever the situation is… it's okay… we just want to come get her. We don't care, we don't care, we just want her," said Morris' mother.
No one noticed the young woman was missing until Tuesday when she didn't show up for work. Her silver Toyota Celica was found still parked, undisturbed where Morris left it.
Along with investigators, family and friends will walk from business to business asking if anyone has surveillance video that shows Morris or anyone else leaving the garage Saturday morning.
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - A desperate search for answers in underway in Plano after a 23-year-old woman vanished after spending at evening with friends at The Shops at Legacy. Christina Marie Morris of Fort Worth was last seen walking into a parking garage at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning.
"We just want her home safely," says her mother Jonni McElroy. "Our life is not complete without her… and it won't be complete until we have her. We need her."
Both McElroy and Anna Morris, Christina's stepmother, fought and frequently lost the battle to control their tears. The family is sick with worry, saying Christina is responsible and would not have gone this long without contacting them.
"We are just waiting for her to come home," says Morris. "I just need her to call me and tell me to come get her."
Christina had been hanging out with friends at the popular Legacy entertainment area Friday evening. When she headed to her car at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning, a friend walked with her.
"Her friend went toward his car, and she went towards her car and that was pretty much the last time she was seen," says Officer David Tilley, a Plano Police Department spokesperson. Tilley says detectives have questioned and released the friend.
Christina's silver Toyota Celica was later recovered still parked in the garage. Neither her cell phone nor bank cards have shown any recent activity. Police are putting extra officers on the case because they weren't contacted until late Tuesday night. Due to the holiday weekend, no one was alarmed until she didn't show up for work.
"When that kind of time frame lapses, you're always trying to catch up," says Tilley. "So that's why we're putting some extra resources on to get that early jump."
Police are also asking local businesses to review their surveillance systems to see if their cameras captured Christina's movements as she passed through the garage. Detectives also plan to retrace her steps into the garage at about the time she disappeared, hoping they stumble onto a clue.
Meanwhile, family members insist that she wasn't under any undue stress.
"Just regular stuff," says Morris. "I think she may have had a disagreement with her boyfriend. But, nothing huge that would cause her to disappear."
Police plan to have teams of officers in the area continuing the search.
"She's very close to all of us," says Morris. "One of us always knows she's okay."
Morris is 5 feet 4 inches, 95 pounds and has brown hair with blonde highlights.
