Woman Found Dead In Mansfield Apartment

MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Mansfield are investigating a murder and searching for a person of interest after a woman was found dead Sunday night inside of her apartment. The crime is believed to have happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Kings Way Drive, near Fort Worth Street.

The victim's body was discovered during a welfare check at about 10:00 p.m. on Sunday night. Police entered her second floor apartment unit and found the Hispanic female dead. She was later identified as 23-year-old Devon De La Rosa. She was the mother of a 4-month-old child. That baby was not harmed, family members said.

Police are now searching for 27-year-old Anthony Raymont Ford. According to family members, he was the victim's boyfriend and the father of the baby. The couple had been arguing for the past three days, family members said, and neighbors confirmed that they had frequent altercations.

A neighbor said that she heard a very loud scream at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday night, and then saw a man running from the apartment complex.

Police described Ford as a black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, and 165 pounds. As of now, he is just a person of interest in the investigation. Ford was last seen driving a 2004 black two-door Pontiac Grand Am GT with a missing front right hubcab and license plate CZ8-WC38. Anyone who might have information about his location or this case is urged to contact the Mansfield Police Department at 817-473-0211.
