Woman Charged With Dallas Kidnapping

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Dallas have arrested a 23-year-old woman in a child abduction case. The incident happened Wednesday evening and the suspect was taken into custody a short time later. The two children who were reported missing are now safe at home.

Officers responded to the call just before 6:00 p.m. in the 10000 block of Garland Road. After speaking with the father of the two kids and another witness, it was determined that a woman had walked out of a thrift store with the children, a 7-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl.

Authorities were then informed about an abandoned child in the 2400 block of Laughlin Drive, about 30 minutes after that incident. Another witness reported seeing the suspect with the kids and had called 911.

Both of the children were found safe and returned to their father.

The suspect was identified as Brianah Blount. She was arrested is now sitting behind bars for two counts of kidnapping and active warrants. Police have not discussed a motive behind the alleged abduction, and have only said that Blount is not related to the children.
