Close To 30 Windows Shot Out In McKinney Since Beginning Of Year
McKINNEY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - McKinney Police said detectives are working several leads and have persons of interest in nearly 30 criminal incidents of windows being shot with BB guns.
The incidents have happened in an area east of 75/Central, dating back to early January.
All have happened between roughly 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., with the most recent being both Friday night and Thursday night at gym in the historic downtown area in the 300 block of E. Louisiana St., east of McDonald St.
There were about a dozen people inside working out at the time. No one was hurt either time.
"It was a big shock factor," said Brandon Green who was on the clock Thursday both times shots were fired from a car into the windows at the family-owned Lockout Gym.
"There was a lady on the leg press who was not even two feet from where the shot was fired," he said. "I just hear the woman yelling, screaming, obviously shocked - obviously scared. She thought it a drive by."
That woman's husband, who was also working out said he was thankful the gunman was firing BBs, not bullets.
"She thought they were going to turn around and start shooting again," said gym member Edgar Vasquez. "God bless, she was good"
