Ailing Willie Nelson Cancels Colorado Show
DENVER (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - A representative for Willie Nelson said that the country music legend is feeling better after canceling a weekend performance in Colorado.
The 79-year-old was scheduled to perform Saturday at a private home in Castle Pines Village, Colorado. The benefit concert was for an organization that provides animal care and shelter in the Denver area. The host of the fundraiser, Fred Bartlit, told The Denver Post that he was informed about Nelson being taken to the hospital for trouble breathing. Nelson reportedly suffered compllications "due to the high altitude and emphysema."
The singer's representative, Elaine Shock, said on Monday that Nelson was never hospitalized.
Shock added that no other concerts or appearances are set to be canceled. Nelson is next scheduled to perform at a sold out show on Tuesday night at the House of Blues in Dallas.
