DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — FEMA agents are coming to Dallas County again Monday as the area waits to hear if it's eligible for federal disaster aid amid the slew of storms and flooding last month.

Agents toured seven cities Friday: Garland, Irving, Carrollton, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Farmers Branch, and Coppell.

In Garland, agents stopped along Duck Creek in response to a local judge's claim that nineteen homes were severely damaged.

In order to qualify for federal aid, counties must have at least twenty-five severely damaged homes.

In addition to residential areas, FEMA will be assessing damage done to local businesses in May.

Last week, approved individual assistance stood at $11 million. Damage estimates from Memorial Day weekend storms and flooding has topped more than $80 million for public property.
