Wife Of Teacher Charged In Double Murder Arrested

Update: Tiffany Heath has since posted her $5,000 bond and has been released from custody.

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The wife of the Cedar Hill science teacher charged with killing two neighbors after a Halloween party last weekend, was arrested by Fort Worth Police shortly before 3:00 p.m. Thursday.

Sources tell CBS11, Tiffany Nicole Heath will be charged with tampering with evidence.

Those sources said Tiffany Heath attempted to destroy and hide evidence inside their home in an effort to help her husband.

Her bond is set at $5,000.

Tiffany Heath's husband, Cary Joseph Heath, 35, was arrested in connection to the shooting deaths of Daniel Derek Haros and Phillip Michael Evans. They died early Sunday morning on Buffalo Springs Drive in south Fort Worth. Heath lived a few doors down from them.

According to the arrest affidavit for Cary Heath, a few minutes after the shooting, Heath ran into his neighbor's home, handed his one-year-old child to his neighbor and stated 'this is the last time I will see the baby. I killed two people.'

Heath also told his wife that he killed Haros and Evans and that she needed to clean some blood out of the gun safe, according to the affidavit.

Heath, an eighth-grade teacher, taught his classes at Permenter Middle School the next day. One of his students told CBS 11 that he acted "completely normal" as though it was just another regular school day.

He was arrested in a parking lot on campus after school was dismissed Monday.

He faces two counts of capital murder and is being held on $1 million bond in the Tarrant County Jail.
