Wife Of Murdered White Rock Trail Runner Found Dead

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The wife of a Dallas runner who just days ago was attacked and killed on the White Rock Trail has been found dead.
It was on October 12 when David Stevens was attacked with a machete as he went for a morning run. When officers arrived at the trial in Lake Highlands, just north of White Rock Lake, they found Stevens with severe stab wounds. He later died from his injuries.
Dallas County Sheriff's confirmed that Stevens wife, Patti, was found "deceased in the garage." Officials have not said how Patti Stevens died, but said they were not searching for suspects in the 44-year-olds death.
It was just one week ago that dozens of runners crowded onto the White Rock Creek Trail to run in Stevens' honor. The runners hit the trail wearing special bibs with the date Stevens died as their number, "101215." After the run, joggers and friends of Stevens gathered for a candlelight vigil.
Former Texas A&M football player Thomas Johnson was arrested and charged with Stevens murder just hours after the attack. Johnson, 21, allegedly confessed to the murder and told police he chose Stevens at random. He remains in jail, on $500,000 bond, charged with Murder.
