Wife Of Man Beaten By Stranger At Walmart Blames Road Rage

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The wife of a Watauga man senselessly beaten while leaving a Fort Worth Walmart is speaking out.
Nearly two weeks after it happened, no arrests have been made, and the man's condition isn't improving.
Rhonda Britton told CBSDFW her husband Marty Britton, 55, is in the Intensive Care Unit at Harris Methodist in a coma. He recently had brain surgery to stop bleeding and relieve swelling from his attack.
Fort Worth Police said on June 12 Britton was walking into the Walmart off of East Chase Parkway and I-30 when a man pulled up to him got out of the car, beat him and got back in the car, which had a passenger inside before driving off through the parking lot. Britton was left unconscious.
"You just can't go doing this to people, you can't. It's not right. You've ruined somebody's life that didn't do anything to you," said Rhonda Britton.
Now she is sending a strong message to whomever did this to her husband of only a year and a half.
"I think they need to come forward. They need to own up to what they did," she said.
She went on to say that before his condition worsened he made a statement that led her to believe this may have been the result of a road rage incident. However, Fort Worth police have not confirmed that. In fact FWPD has given very little information, but they are asking for the public's help.
Britton said until an arrest is made or her husband's condition improves everything is in limbo saying, "He may never wake up. This may be all we get out of him."
