CARROLLTON (CBS11) - Carisa Polanco of Carrollton says she's still debating whether to vote for Texas Senator Ted Cruz or Florida Senator Marco Rubio.
She says she prefers Cruz because he's consistently conservative, but believes Rubio may be more electable against the Democratic nominee.
Polanco says, "I'd like to see how Rubio does in South Carolina. If he does really well, and I think that he has a better chance of being our candidate, then I'll probably vote for him. If not, I'll go with my gut and vote Cruz."
Others like Mary and Jerry Jenkinson of Carrollton, couldn't wait to vote. Mary said, "To get it over with."
Jerry said, "First we want to get it over with and we have a good idea who we're voting for."
For Jerry, it was an easy decision -- he wants to see a third Bush become President. "I'm going to go with Jeb. Why? He just seems more down to earth. I really like what Trump says but he doesn't shut up and I think he just digs himself a hole."
Mary is a Democrat, who says she doesn't want another Clinton in the White House. "I'm not going for Hillary not because I'm not a woman's libber, i's just because I don't think she has our best interest at heart."
But Secretary Clinton has her supporters too like Charlene Vezina. "She's been on our side, she's been in our corner. She fights for the little guy, for families."
The Texas primary is part of Super Tuesday March 1st.
Texas is the crown jewel, with 155 Republican delegates and 252 Democratic delegates up for grabs.
On the first day of early voting, former President George W. Bush was seen casting his ballot at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dallas.
He presumably voted for his brother Jeb, one of six Republicans running for President, one day after they campaigned together in South Carolina.
The Palmetto state's primary will be held Saturday.
