WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBSDFW.COM) -- The Dallas Cowboys are likely to earn the No. 3 seed in the NFC, giving the team a home game in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. However, earning a first-round bye is still a possibility.
Here's the Cowboys' playoff scenarios heading into Week 17 in Washington.
Dallas clinches the No.1 seed and home-field advantage throughout NFC playoffs if:
1) DAL win + ARI loss or tie + DET/GB tie
Dallas clinches a first-round bye if:
1) DAL win + SEA loss or tie + ARI loss or tie OR
2) DAL win + DET/GB tie OR
3) SEA loss + ARI loss OR
4) DAL tie + SEA tie + ARI loss or tie + DET/GB does not end in a tie
Having said this, the Cowboys will most likely host the loser of the Detroit-Green Bay game next week at AT&T Stadium.
But as slim as Dallas' chances at a bye are, Jason Garrett appears to be primed to play his starters in D.C.
