What Jerry Jones And Arlington Can Learn From WrestleMania 31

105.3 THE FAN -- Another WrestleMania has come and gone and the "Showcase of the Immortals" did not disappoint -- unless you thought Seth Rollins cashing in his "Money In the Bank" contact was a bad thing or The Undertaker VS Bray Wyatt match had no substance or that Damien Mizdow was underutilized in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
OK … there's always room for improvement and that includes next year's WrestleMania.
WrestleMania 32 will take place at AT&T Stadium April 3, 2016, and it's never too early for Jerry Jones and his staff to learn from the mistakes made by the folks at Levi's Stadium and the businesses of San Francisco -- uh, I mean San Jose:
METAL DETECTORS – Security is undoubtedly top priority for any venue that hosts an event of WrestleMania's magnitude. However, Levi's Stadium's concern for safety was overshadowed by their abundance of broken metal detectors. Nothing like waiting an hour in line only to have the security staffer/Hot Topic customer tell you the detector is broke and you need to find another. Jerry/AT&T … Make sure the metal detectors are working. If broken, clearly mark the detector so that every WWE fan will see it. I suggest dressing it like a woman.
CHECKING TICKETS – 7 … seven … SEVEN … that's how many times I was asked to see my ticket! I wasn't lost and I wasn't trying to sneak backstage to watch Dolph Ziggler apply peroxide to his flowing locks. Get fans into the stadium, glance at their VERY EXPENSIVE ticket (trust me, they are) and let them enjoy their biggest sporting event of the year without hassle.
RESTAURANTS –San Jose… Oh how you underestimated the size of the WWE Universe. Before WrestleMania, most restaurants that opened at 11:00 were packed by 11:10 with hardly ANY wait staff. After WrestleMania, most restaurants were closed by 10:00 because you know, it's a Sunday night and no one is out … except for the 76,976 starving WWE fans that were ready to spend hundreds of dollars on fried cheese and hoagies!
Arlington, if you open at 11:00, have ALL HANDS on DECK!!! If you close at 10:00, EXTEND YOUR HOURS for ONE NIGHT!!! You'll thank me later -- seriously send me stuff c/o CBS Radio.
Despite these problems and a slew of minor ones, WrestleMania 31 provided hours of entertainment that WWE fans come to enjoy every time this year.
Nevertheless, Jerry Jones has a way of outdoing things that have come before. WrestleMania 32 should be no different.
