West Explosion Report To Be Released

WEST (AP) - Federal and state officials say they're poised to announce findings of their investigation into a deadly Texas fertilizer plant explosion that killed at least 14 people.

Officials from the Texas State Fire Marshal's Office and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are scheduled to release results of a monthlong investigation Thursday afternoon. The fire marshal's office and ATF are leading the probe into what sparked a fire at West Fertilizer and what caused ammonium nitrate to explode.

The April 17 blast leveled homes nearby and registered as a small earthquake. It killed 10 first responders and two volunteers trying to fight the fire.

Officials have ruled out terrorism, but not the possibility of a criminal act.
