Weekend Highway Closures In Lewisville

LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Drivers might want to avoid Interstate-35E in Lewisville this weekend. Crews will begin construction on Friday night and some areas will be shut down until Sunday morning. These closures are to allow workers to demolish part of the Fox Avenue bridge. At various times over the weekend, some or all lanes of the highway and the frontage roads will be inaccessible in one or both directions.
Here is the full list of closures:
MAIN LANES
8:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday: The left lane of southbound Interstate-35E will be closed.
10:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday: All lanes of southbound Interstate-35E and the two left lanes of northbound Interstate-35E approaching Fox Avenue will be closed. Traffic will be diverted along the frontage road and will enter southbound Interstate-35E at the ramp south of Fox Avenue.
8:00 p.m. Saturday to 8:00 a.m. Sunday: The left lane of northbound Interstate-35E will be closed.
10:00 p.m. Saturday to 8:00 a.m. Sunday: All lanes of northbound Interstate-35E and the two left lanes of southbound Interstate-35E approaching Fox Avenue will be closed. Motorists will be diverted off of the interstate at Fox Avenue, continue down the frontage road and enter northbound Interstate-35E north of Fox Avenue.
FRONTAGE ROADS
7:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday: The southbound Interstate-35E frontage road will be reduced to one lane and shifted west.
8:00 p.m. Saturday to 8:00 a.m. Sunday: The northbound Interstate-35E frontage road will be reduced to one lane and shifted east.
ENTRANCE & EXIT RAMPS
7:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday: The southbound Interstate-35E entrance ramp just south of Main Street will be closed. Traffic will continue down the frontage road to access southbound Interstate-35E.
7:00 p.m. Saturday to 8:00 a.m. Sunday: The northbound Interstate-35E entrance ramp north of Highway 121 Business will be closed to traffic. Traffic will continue down the frontage and enter northbound Interstate-35E north of Fox Avenue.
