Weather Pattern Change

It's race day at the Speedway for the Duck Commander 500 tonight. Only slight rain chances during the afternoon under mostly cloudy skies:

Rain chances today include some isolated thunderstorms. Most of this activity will stay to the southwest of the metro area where the humidity is higher:

Sunday will have morning clouds, strong afternoon winds and warm temperatures. It will also be rather muggy:

Storms could move into our northwest by evening. Rain chances are modest for the metro area:

We've had only a trace of rain so far this month. Where are those April showers? Waiting for a change in the weather pattern. We are going to go from hot and dry to cool and wet thanks in large part to the powerful upper-level low slowly moving out of the southwest.

But a strong cold front arrives late Monday. Ahead of it the dryline will push into the metro area during Monday afternoon. We'll watch for the risk of severe weather with these storms, large hail and damaging winds are possible. Stay tuned.

On the other side of the cold front we have colder air and cold rains. We actually could get a decent rain on Wednesday:
