Weapon Stolen From Fort Worth Police Officer
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - An off-duty Fort Worth police officer had his weapon stolen on Thursday morning at a self-service car wash in Kennedale, near the intersection of Little Road and Treepoint Drive.
According to authorities in Kennedale, the officer and his girlfriend were washing a car at about 6:00 a.m. when the suspect approached, pointing what appeared to be an assault rifle at the officer's face. The officer attempted to grab the barrel of the suspect's gun, but fell to the ground. That is when his duty weapon fell out of his pants. The suspect grabbed the weapon and ran from the scene.
The suspect is still on the loose. The assault rifle turned out to be a plastic air gun.
