Watauga Man Admits To Downloading, Distributing Child Porn
WATAUGA (CBSDFW.COM) - A Watauga man has pleaded guilty in federal court in Dallas to one count of transporting and shipping child pornography, the Department of Justice announced on Tuesday.
Walter Eugene Rogers, 33, faces a maximum prison sentence of not less than five years or more than 20 years. He also faces a potential fine up to $250,000 and a lifetime of supervised release.
Rogers admitted to downloading child pornography since the mid-1990's and possessing images and videos of sex acts, bondage, and other sadistic acts involving children. In fact, Rogers told authorities he had downloaded child porn just hours before the agents arrived to arrest him.
He also admitted to being attracted to nine to 12-year-old boys.
According to case documents, Rogers was identified by a special agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. The agent was conducting an undercover investigation to identify persons involved with distributing child pornography online.
Rogers computer was found to be sharing images of child pornography after the agent downloaded some of the more than 384 files available for sharing from Rogers.
An arrest warrant was executed on his Watauga home in November 2011. Agents seized a computer and related storage devices, as well as a bag of printed pornography images.
Rogers has been in federal custody since being arrested in Georgia on a related criminal charge.
