WACO (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Waco Police are preparing for a Sunday biker rally to support those who were jailed after the Twin Peaks shootout last month.
Hundreds of bikers are expected to be a part of the "All For 1 Rally & Protest" in Waco Sunday afternoon. The group claims 90 percent of all the 177 arrested are not guilty of anything.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to leave their weapons at home.
In fact, they are making an exerted effort to make this event as lawful and peaceful as possible. The event's flyer reads:
"We will stop at every Stop Sign.
We will stop at every Red Light.
We will obey the speed limit.
We will Abide by all traffic Laws.
We encourage The American Flag.
We discourage all Weapons."
Organizers are calling for individuals and law enforcement to drop the association they have with bikers and gangs.
The rally will take place in front of the McLennan County Courthouse.
UPDATE: A state jail inspector found no violations at lockups holding more than 150 bikers arrested after a shootout last month at a Waco restaurant. An inspector from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards showed up unannounced at the McLennan County Jail and adjacent Jack Harwell Detention Center after more than three dozen online complaints were received from suspects jailed after the May 17 shootout at a Waco Twin Peaks restaurant.
