Voter Turnout Mixed At Texas Polling Places
DALLAS (AP/CBSDFW.COM) -- Voter turnout appears mixed at several polling stations across Texas on primary runoff election day.
At one South Texas location, officials reported 30 voters by late Tuesday morning at the library in Alamo, or less than 10 per hour.
In Grapevine, turnout was heavier at a polling place that combined several locations from the May 29 primary. Voter Patsy Hardy says she was happy to see good Republican turnout that was "not all old and not all young."
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and tea party favorite Ted Cruz are seeking the Republican nomination for the seat held by retiring Republican U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Democrats are choosing between former state Rep. Paul Sadler and retired educator Grady Yarbrough.
