Villopoto Leading Supercross To Cowboys Stadium
ARLINGTON (AP) - The Supercross season started off as the most competitive in over 35 years.
Now that the opening West Coast swing is over, it's looking an awful lot like last season: Everyone's chasing Ryan Villopoto.
Villopoto came back from a horrific injury last year to win his first Supercross title, and followed that up victories in outdoor motocross and the $1 million Monster Energy Cup.
He opened this season with a win in Anaheim, Calif., but Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey and James Stewart won after that, the first time since 1976 different riders won the first four Supercross races.
Villopoto has won the last two races, though, giving him a six-point lead over Reed heading into Saturday's race at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
